Viper Racing by Sierra
O.K... I had good feelings for this when I
heard it was out.... until I played it. It has some nice features
that really should be in alot of racing games, like different
paint chioces on the cars, and a paint shop where you can paint
your car the way you like it. And it had some lousey features
like the useless 'W' key that makes youre car flip up in the air
and wereck itself on the ground. Hold the button down and the car
will remiain airborn. This serves no porpose and had no reason
for being in a racing game... The damage is pretty realistic
although the tires should break up or bend, and windows crack and
shatter, but the paint scrapes and body panels bending is nice.
However you can repair and replace your car on the track it is dissapointing when you trash an
opponent that he can do the same. There should be a variety of
vipers, the game is called 'Viper Racing' and not Viper GTS-R
Racing so it should have some variety of the Dodge vipers and not
just the GTR-S. The tracks are nice and have some nice scenery,
but everything is oversized a bit that makes you feel like youre
going slow. Watch out for the objects tho, they no mateer how
puny will make you come to a dead halt, ans one dome like
building i drove into made my car fall through the track into
endless space. The paved area of the tracks are way too wide for
the size and amount of the cars. The opponents completly ignore
you, and the thing that really made this game a flop is the total
lack or handling you have over the car. Im
serious, you spin out going walking
speed, and cant drive anywhere. You have no traction what-so-ever,
and this makes the game completly unplayable if you dont have a
wheel, or drive the viper. (there are some secret cars in the
options, but they suck too..) When you drive into a river, your
car makes a splash, and the cars in this game should too but
dont. The graphics are nice, but no 3dfx, the sound and music
when you quit is nice too, but im afraid that is all I can say
good about this
racing sim racing
dissapointment.
